KUWAIT: The Hawally Governor Retd Lt Gen, Abdullah Al-Faris inaugurated the 'Electro 2007' Exhibition at the Mishref International Fairgrounds yesterday. On the occasion Al-Faris said, "I am glad to be here today especially since this year's exhibition had improved a lot from last year's. More products are being sold at reasonable and affordable prices, and it is also obvious that this will lead to a greater number of exhibitors as compared to last year."
"It is good that Kuwait exhibits different international brands, which create fair competition and I am so happy to see some local products such as refrigerators and AC units exhibited as well. These locally manufactured goods are exported to other countries too," he said adding, "the participating companies are exhibiting the latest and hi-tech products where 15 international companies are taking part in this year's exhibition and excellent offers are available throughout the seven days of the exhibition."
"These exhibitions are a very important aspect to Kuwait as they increase revenues of both the industries as well strengthen the trade and commerce of the country," he concluded.
Ahmed Marhaba, the executive general manager of Abdulaziz S Al-Babtain & Sons Company for Electrical & Electronics however said, "We in Kuwait have the ability to make this exhibition even greater and on an international level. It should have been even bigger than this, with the participation of more companies working together as a team, especially since 35 different countries were allowed to participate. More interest and efforts should have gone into the planning," adding, "when the number of participating countries would increases this would positively affect the exhibition, the participating companies as well as the country in general."
