CAIRO, March 27 (KUNA) -- The Cairo-based Kuwaiti Office for Charity Projects inaugurated on Thursday another charity project in several provinces in Egypt, including the opening of Khalid Fahad Al-Jerri Mosque in Al-Saff city in the Jiza province with a total cost of 44,000 Egyptian pounds.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Director of the Charity office Ismail Al-Kanderi, Jiza governor Fathi Saad, and Khalid Fahad Al-jerri, including several media outlets and officials from the Egyptian Awqaf ministry.

In a statement to KUNA, Al-Kanderi praised the project and Al-Jerri for building the mosque which will now holds a bigger number of worshipers in the province.

The Director also praised efforts and continuous support from the Kuwait Zakat House in Cairo, including Egyptian officials who supported and eased procedures to establish the charity project.

Al-Kanderi also expressed hope that such a gesture and similar projects to continue in various Egyptian provinces.

The mosque which was rebuilt in a more moderate form comes as part of a plan set up by the Zakat House, Al-Kanderi noted.

The mosque approximate cost is around 44 thousands Egyptian pound and is intended to be a main mosque in Al-Saff city which holds a population of around 40,000 people.
