KUWAIT CITY, May 26: The Ministry of Education (MoE) has hired 311 Kuwaiti women to work as guards inside girls' schools across the country, Al-Seyassah daily quoted Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs Aisha Al-Rawdhan as saying.

The female guards will join work from the next academic year, she said, adding 78 guards would be deployed in schools in Jahra, 72 in Hawalli, 88 in Farwaniya and 73 in Capital governorate schools. Schools in Ahmadi and Mubarak Al-Kabeer zones will be provided guards in the second phase.

The job description of female guards involves ensuring the security of students inside the schools and monitoring assemblies. All schools, including primary, intermediate and secondary, will have these guards.  Al-Rawdan said the school meals project is going on smoothly and added that the ministry took note of some suggestions in this regard and will implement them in order to ensure that there is no problem whatsoever.
