KUWAIT, May 8 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait International Fair Company has announced on Thursday that it intends to organize an exhibition entitled Travel World Expo 2008 between 14-17 of May, which will target tourism in the country.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry Undersecretary for Tourism Jamal Al-Shayea said in a press statement, that the Ministry is to sponsor the event.
He said that the exhibition comes among plans to develop the tourism sector in the country and to transform Kuwait into a commercial and financial global contender.
He added that the rate of tourism in Arab states has leaped by 5.7 per cent a year.
Al-Shayea concluded by saying that tourists from Kuwait and the Gulf states are regarded to be some of the biggest spenders on travel.
