"The publications include various aspects of science and knowledge such as administrative science, sociology, law, engineering, humanitarianism, education, Islamic studies," Kuwait Ambassador to Yemen Salem Ghosab Al-Zamanan told KUNA here on Sunday.
They include the periodical publications of Kuwait's National Council of Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) such as Alam Al-Fikr (World of Thought), Alam Al-Ma'refa (World of Knowledge), Ibra'at Alamiya (World Creativities), Al-Masrah Al-Alami (the World Theater) and Al-Thaqafa Al-Alamiya (World Culture).
"The embassy also granted and the Yemen Center for Studies and Research (YCSR) 1,200 books and periodicals," Al-Zamanan pointed out.
The YCSR chaired by Presidential Advisor Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Maqaleh is a one of the most important research centers in Yemen which provides students and scholars with the references in all fields of knowledge.
"Preparations are underway between the embassy and leaders of Sanaa University to open Kuwait pavilion at the Central Library of Sanaa University," he disclosed, noting that all books have been delivered to the Yemeni side and would be available to students soon.
"Kuwait will continue supplying the Yemeni educational institutions with thousands of books and references in a bid to strengthen the cultural ties between the two sisterly countries," Al-Zamanan pledged.
For his part, Director General of the Central Library of Sanaa University Ali Abul-Hamid thanked Kuwait for its generous grant which would be very helpful for all students of the university.
"The new initiative is by no means unusual for Kuwait which offered generous contributions to the construction of many facilities of the university," he added.
