KUWAIT, Jan 14 (KUNA) -- "The late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah passed away last year but his legacy will live on forever in the hearts of every Kuwaiti citizen," saying Governor of Kuwait City Sheikh Ali Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, paying his tribute to the late Kuwaiti leader Sunday.

The governor added "despite the lost the Kuwaitis suffered, Sheikh Jaber's wisdom, teachings, and contributions will continue on to inspire the Kuwaiti people to achieve what is best for their country."

Sheikh Jaber elevated the country in various domains through his political leadership, intellectuality and ambitions, he said.

"Kuwaitis salute a humanitarian man with vision who did not yield to pressure and pushed forward on to serve Kuwait, Arab and Muslim worlds, as well as the international community throughout his life and until his very last breath," said Sheikh Ali adding "there are no specific amounts of words to express Kuwait's great loss and sorrow but we ask (HA) God to grant us patience for our great pain, may your soul rest in peace."

He also pointed out that the Kuwaiti leadership led by their Highnesses the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Saba, the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah would steer the country in the same way the late Amir would have wished for during his life-time.
