KUWAIT, Nov 10 (KUNA) -- Salmiya were held to a 1-1 draw when hosted by Kuwait Sports Club (SC), while league leaders Qadsiya earned a tough victory over hosts Al-Nasr in Kuwait's football Premier League on Monday.
Salmiya ended the first half with a one goal advantage over Kuwait SC at the 43rd minute when its striker Fahad Al-Rasheedi scored a header to the left of Kuwait SC keeper and Kuwaiti international Khaled Al-Fadhli, after a cross by Abdullah Al-Baraiky.
In the 11th minute of the second half, striker Faraj Laheeb scored a well-executed goal for Kuwait SC after a pass from teammate Khaled Ajab, to which the striker slotted home the equalizer to the right of Salmiya goalie Saleh Mehdi.
Qadsiya in the meantime managed to secure three more points to add to their league dominance mission.
The three-point attaining winning goal over Al-Nasr, was scored by striker Saleh Al-Shiekh at the ninth minute of the second half after a volley-pass to which he made a run between defenders firing a shot into goal.
Qadsiya remains atop of the league with 13 points, superior to Kazma by goal difference, while Salmiya comes third with 11 points followed by Al-Nasr with ten points, Kuwait SC with eight, Al-Arabi with six, Tadhamon with four, Al-Shabab with three.
The upcoming games are scheduled on 23 November, with a Salmiya Al-Shabab clash and another between Kazma and Al-Nasr.
