MUSCAT -- The KPMG Business School in Oman has proved to be a great success following the end of its previous training programme on the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This course prepared participants for the UK's Chartered Association of Certified Accountant's (ACCA) Diploma in IFRS examinations, although some participants attended the course purely for the purpose of improving their IFRS knowledge and bringing themselves right up to date with the standards.
KPMG is proud to be associated with training financial professionals in Oman and the next IFRS Diploma syllabus is planned to commence on September 15, 2013 and will take place over a three month period.
Sudip Gupta, Director of the KPMG Business School in Oman commented "We are extremely proud of how successful the IFRS training course has been and the positive feedback received from participants, notably on the interactive nature of the course and the quality of the lectures, study manuals and question / answer manuals from the ACCA Gold approved publisher in the UK. We were even more delighted to see the course attended by a considerable number of Omani Nationals that took the opportunity to develop their business and finance skills."
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), issued by the International Accounting Standards Board, are rapidly becoming the benchmarks for the accounting world. With the growing number of countries opting for IFRS, the number of finance professionals with qualifications in IFRS is increasing globally. Notably, Oman companies are required to produce their financial statements under IFRS.
The next KPMG IFRS course will continue to be conducted by experienced professionals from the ACCA Gold Approved KPMG Training Centre, with the study package provided to all participants from the UK ACCA Gold approved publisher.
The KPMG IFRS course content is extremely useful for accounting and finance professionals working, or intending to work, in an environment requiring accounting and reporting using IFRS and designed to develop a participant's knowledge of IFRS and understanding of the IFRS concepts, the principles which underpin them and their application in financial statements. The course will prepare participants for working in any IFRS environment.
