HM King Mohammed VI inaugurates, on Wednesday, Mohammed VI Hospital in M'diq Municipality, northern Morocco. The project costed MAD 31 million, MAP news agency reported.
The Sovereign has visited the different departments of the hospital, which extends on 14,000 m and intends to provide medical services on local and national level, as well as ease the pressure on other hospitals and regional health centres.
M'diq hospital Mohammed VI includes many services in general medicine, obstetric gynecology, general surgery and paediatrics.
The Sovereign was briefed on the 2006-2011 projects programmed in health sector in Tangier-Tetuan region, which are expected to include 33 hospitals for a budget of MAD 247 million.
The construction of many hospitals is underway (33 hospitals for a budget of MAD 123 million.)
In the region of Tangier-Tetuan, there are 168 hospitals with 2,245 beds, one hospital per 14,705 people, one bed per 1,100 people, one nurse per 1,674 people and one doctor per 4,815 people.
Concerning health allowances, the region annually register 936,000 consultations, 14,500 medical radios, 8 scanners and 13 hemodialysis centres.
On his arrival, the Sovereign was greeted by the Minister of Health, the Governor of the M'diq Prefecture, the President of the M'diq Municipality, the Regional Delegate of Health and the Director of the Hospital.
