Amman - Jordan's tourism revenue increased by 19 percent in the first half of 2012 due to a better tourism season.
According to a bulletin issued by the Central Bank of Jordan, tourism revenues stood at JD1.2 billion until the end of June compared to JD1 billion in the same period of 2011.
Tourism revenue in June this year rose by 37.5 percent while it declined by 23.2 percent in the same month in 2011.
The change was attributed to a rise in the number of visitors from Libya, Iraq, the United States, Saudi Arabia as well as the return of Jordanian expatriates.
