Dushanbe, Nov 13, IRNA
Iranian exhibitions enjoy widespread popularity among Tajik people so that most of the 200 international exhibitions, held in the country over the past 10 years, were Iranian ones, said Deputy Head of Tajikistan's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Asanali Karamaliev, on Wednesday.
Speaking to IRNA correspondent on the sidelines of a visit to an exhibition of Iranian commodities in Tajikistan, Karamaliev said the popularity of Iranian products in Tajikistan is due to their high quality as well as cultural proximity of the two Persian-speaking countries.
He said that a group of Tajik traders and contractors are to visit Iran next month with the aim of using Iran's capabilities and further promotion of bilateral cooperation.
The Tajik official, meanwhile, said that annual trade between Iran and Tajikistan stood at $217 billion in 2012 and is projected to reach $250 billion by the end of this year.
Some 35 Iranian companies have put on display their products, including carpet, cement, handicrafts and weaving, construction, agricultural and food products in the exhibition, which opened in Tajikistan on Tuesday and will close on November 17.
