TEHRAN (PIN) -- About 70 percent of products of Al-Ghadir Petrochemical Company are exported and 30 percent are used domestically.

Managing director of the company, Reza Rahimi, noted that when the PVC project of Al-Ghadir Petrochemical Company becomes operational possibly its entire product will be exported.

"Due to increased value of PVC which is currently being traded for 850-900 dollars per ton, the unit will be capable of annual production of 150,000 tons products worth about 135 million dollars," he noted.

The unit will produce 120,000 tons PVC per year as well as 150,000 tons VCM (vinyl chloride monomer). Some 120,000 tons VCM will be used as feed for producing PVC.

Total investment in the project has been estimated at more than 1,280 billion Rls. including more than 78 million dollars and 620 billion Rls.

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is used for making pipes, toys and electrical insulators.
