DOHA: Qatar Section of ISA - The Instrumentation, Systems and Automation Society, the largest worldwide professional body for Instrumentation and Control Engineering Professionals organised a Technical Seminar on April 5 at Doha Club on "New solutions in Field Bus architecture for process control applications in oil and gas industries and case studies in field bus diagnostics".

The main Speaker of the Seminar was Hugh Wingrove, Application Manager, MTL Instruments, UK about new architecture of field bus devices for intrinsic safe applications and its On/Off line monitoring and diagnostics for higher reliability. He emphasised that with such technological improvement, the predictive maintenance strategy can be implanted by reducing the plant downtime. The event was sponsored by M/s MTL Instruments/Petrofac Qatar.

The seminar was presided by Nilangshu Dey, Secretary, ISA Qatar Section and attended by Instrumentation & Control engineers of Qatar Petroleum, Qatar Gas, Ras Gas, QAFAC, QChem, Oryx GTL, QVC, QASCO, QEWC, DOPET, Worley, Technip, Ramboll, Petrotec, QCON, Qatar Kentz, Doha Motors, Salam Petroleum and other reputed engineering and contracting companies in Qatar.
