A top Hungarian business sector will be presenting 18 investment opportunities in agriculture, energy and innovative products and some 40 in other areas at the 2nd Arab-Hungarian Economic Forum 2014 (AHEF) to be held in the capital on March 23-25.

The high-profile event under the aegis of Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, second deputy prime minister, adviser and special envoy of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah will be attended by Viktor Orban, prime minister of Hungary along with chambers of commerce in the Arab states, economic organizations and institutions, and Saudi and Hungarian entrepreneurs.

The forum is being organized by the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) and the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture for Arab Countries in collaboration with the Trade and Hungarian Investment.

According to a source from CSC, the AHEF- 2014, which represents a new synergy for strategic relations, is looking forward to promoting the business sector.

"The three major investment sectors in Hungary have many advantages for attracting investment. Hungarian market trends for food products is expected to reach market size to $130 billion by 2015," said a CSC statement.

In the agriculture and food sector, it will showcase an eco-friendly technology that receives heat via geothermal energy.

Other highlights include production of vinegar made from Saudi dates, and a project to develop agriculture that relies on with soil with low fertility in addition to a product to enhance the vitality of crops during dry seasons and increase the possibility of moisture retention in the soil.

Another project concerns manufacturing facility for the oyster mushroom, production of high quality meat that would meet the needs of the market, cultivation of plants to prevent and reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease.

In the field of inventions, Hungary will offer a project to develop a building material using new thermal insulation that helps energy saving. A manufacturing and distribution of hybrid electric cars is among the top 50 inventions in 2010 project, in addition to project that works to provide comprehensive solutions for payment by mobile phone.
