Muscat- HSBC Bank Oman was recently awarded the Euromoney Award for Excellence - Best Investment Bank in Oman. The award was announced last week at the Euromoney Middle East Awards for Excellence dinner in Dubai.

The bank was praised for excellence in terms of quality of service and performance as well as having the most comprehensive investment banking product offering in the market.

“Being recognised by Euromoney as the best investment bank in Oman reflects our strong position and unrivalled ability to deliver cross-border solutions,” Andrew Long, CEO of HSBC Bank Oman said in a press release.

“HSBC has been an investment banking advisor to the government of Oman on a number of strategically important situations since 2016 as well as leading a number of market-making bond and sukuk issuances working closely with the Ministry of Finance Debt Management Office, which is responsible for managing all sovereign debt-related considerations for the sultanate,” he said.

Commenting on the award, Amir Bourani, Oman country head of global banking at HSBC said, “We have worked hard over the years to build a unique investment banking coverage platform, which brings together HSBC’s global market leading capabilities in other parts of the HSBC Group together with our strong understanding and presence in the local market to better serve our clients - uniquely leveraging our strengths across the HSBC network.”

The Euromoney Awards for Excellence are acknowledged by the industry as the pinnacle of achievement for wholesale and retail banks. These awards are given to those institutions that demonstrate leadership, innovation, and momentum in the markets in which they operate.
