MANAMA: HSBC Bahrain has announced the launch of ‘Voice ID’ for its telephone banking customers as part of an ongoing investment in next generation technologies to make services easier and more secure to use.
The bank said it is the first in Bahrain to launch the secure way to access bank accounts.
“We are very excited about this new addition to our improved digital technologies. This is part of our ongoing strategy to digitise banking services and products and to innovate on customer service by blending digital capabilities with exceptional people,” said HSBC Bahrain wealth and personal banking head Shakofa Asghar.
With the use of voice biometrics, HSBC Voice ID creates a unique voiceprint for customers which is used to verify their identity.
The new secure form of verification aims to make the process easier for customers.
“All customers over the age of 18 can register for Voice ID in a few very simple steps,” Ms Asghar added.
“It takes a few minutes to complete the requirements.”
Customers need a bank account or credit card, consolidated phone banking PIN, a valid phone number and a mobile device that can receive SMS to register for Voice ID.
