A planned new Dh20 million hospital in Masafi will ease the pressure on the Fujairah and Dibba Al Fujairah hospitals.

Construction has begun and the hospital is expected to be completed in 18 months.

Financed by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the hospital will occupy 10,000 square metres and provide the best health services to the people of Masafi and the nearby areas.

A source from the Fujairah Medical District said the new building will have two floors and will be equipped with advanced medical equipment. It will also be well staffed with doctors, nurses, consultants, specialists and technicians.

The new hospital will have 45 beds, with the resources to house another 30 if necessary.

The ground floor will have out-patient clinics, a reception, administrative and management offices, laboratories, an X-ray unit, emergency ward, pharmacy, library, conference rooms and a special play area for children.

The out-patient clinics will be dedicated for general surgery, abdominal diseases, orthopaedics, maternity and gynaecology, ENT, ophthalmology and dentistry. Special medical examination rooms will be built in every clinic, in addition to waiting rooms.
