MUSCAT -- Haya Water launched their commercial lab analysis services for public and private sector organisations yesterday at a glittering ceremony at the InterContinental. The move to make the services available to all sectors of the society is part of its endeavour to help the society, industry partners and commercial clients bridge the gap in terms of an efficient lab analysis centre in Muscat in the wake of high demand within the Omani market.

Backed up by a wide scope of ISO 17025 accreditation that covers 23 heavy metals by ICP, 11 biosolids heavy metals and many more parameters for water and wastewater, Haya Water central lab has the most comprehensive ISO 17025 scope for water and wastewater in the Sultanate. The laboratory also received the certificate ISO9001:2008 for the lab management system. This is considered as stringent adherence to best practices for testing and evaluation procedures to a global standard.
Haya Water central lab can analyse many different water matrixes. The services include chemical and microbiological analytical testing services of wastewater, treated effluent water, sea water, drinking water, leachates and compost/biosolids samples for environmental requirement.
The lab is equipped with modern technology from elite chemistry instrument manufacturers such as Thermo Fischer, Perkin Elmer, Skalar and Buchi. Haya Water central lab also has the advantage of having a backup method of analysis for almost all the analysis being conducted in the lab. So if one instrument is down another instrument is utilised to conduct the same analysis without the delay of waiting for repair of the broken down instrument. The latest Lab Information Management System (LIMS) -- Sample Manager 10 -- is integrated into the instruments, to minimise the chance of errors.
