Muscat - Liam Cunningham, known for his portrayal of Davos Seaworth in the HBO epic fantasy TV drama Game of Thrones (GOT) is in Muscat to scout for locations which he plans to propose to producers for future shoot.

Brand Infiniti, a part of Al Reem Creative, a leading Omani film production company, is collaborating with the actor to bring the best out of the Omani talents.

Cunningham said, “I have visited a couple of places and amazed with the landscape. There are challenges but we as film-makers love to work with such limitations. There are also plans to impart skills and know-how of filming to Omanis so that they will be equipped with the art of creativity and film-making.”

He added that the Game of Thrones is set in the medieval period and Oman has great locations that can also be utilised.

“Being here has enabled me to get a real feel of what Oman has to offer to the international film-making community. The demand for content along with fresh and exciting locations has never been greater,” Cunningham said.

Khalid Said Salem al Wahaibi, chairman, Brand Infiniti said, “We have some of the best locations in the Middle East. Film-making has tremendous possibilities in Oman and with ample government backing and with the push for diversification, the sultanate can do greater things. This will also ensure a steady and good flow of income in the country as well as place the country in the world map. If the producers of GOT love the places we might also have Omani cast feature in future seasons of the mega serial.”

Cunningham has been nominated for the London Film Critics' Circle Award, the British Independent Film Award and has won two Irish Film and Television Awards.
