(with photos) HAVANA, May 6 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Ambassador in Cuba Bader Al-Awadhi hosted a banquet to honor Director General of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) Abdulwahab Al-Bader and his accompanying delegation after signing an agreement for a project to rehabilitate the drinking and drain water grids of the Capital City, Havana.

Among guests of honor at the banquet was Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz, along with senior officials from the Cuban National Water Resources Institute and the ruling party.

KFAED's chief said Kuwait gladly supports such development projects in Cuba, particularly initiatives of this scale and importance, and noted this is the third KFAED-supported project in Cuba.

The Ambassador Al-Awadhi meanwhile said this agreement is singed as part of an overall policy of boosting technical cooperation with Cuba and efforts to bolster and broaden the scope of relations between the two nations and people. "This is, in effect, re-iteration of an earlier assurance to the Cuban Government that Kuwait would support its plans to modernize the country's social and economic platforms." The Cuban minister had also, for his part, hosted a luncheon honoring Director General of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) Abdulwahab Al-Bader and his accompanying delegation, with presence of the Kuwaiti Ambassador Al-Awadhi and senior Foreign Ministry officials.
