KUWAIT CITY, Feb 25: A noticeable increase in money exchange and remittance business, fully booked flights and an average hotel occupancy rate have marked the Hala February Festival, reports Al-Anba daily.

General Manager of Al-Muzaini Exchange Company Jamal Zayed said that there is a noticeable increase in remitting of money to countries where expatriates and citizens intend to spend their holidays in. He pointed that the Egyptian and Indian communities provided the maximum business.

Manager of Egypt Air Office in Kuwait Fathi Atiya wondered about the role of Hala February in the issue and asked 'where does Hala February fit into this? When reminded that flight services are increased during the festival, he said, 'all Egyptian flights have been booked, even the additional ones,' and added 50 per cent seats are booked by Kuwaitis and the rest by Egyptians who want to spend the holidays with their families.

Speaking on the issue, Regional Manager of Safer Hotels Mubarak Al-Ajmi said that the booking percentage is very normal despite the fact that hotels are giving very good discounts during Hala February. He said the room rates in Kuwait are the cheapest in comparison to other countries in the Gulf area.
