KUWAIT, Dec 21 (KUNA) -- Chief of the Kuwaiti Fish and Shrimp Culture Association Yousef Mohammad bin Sabt called on Thursday for constructing pearl culture farms all over the country, to revive the history of the ancestors who dived for pearls.

Speaking to KUNA after attending the First Abu Dhabi International Pearls Expo, he said that he will try to put this project in action, adding that he still needs help from the competent government authorities to allocate locations for pearl culture which has become a world business.

He referred to the first successful pearl culture farm established by the businessman Abdullah Al--Suwaidi, in Ras Al-Khaimah. This farm's culture process involves culture of around 25,000 oysters and this will be up to 1.5 million in the coming two years.

Bin Sabt, who won the scientific creativity award from the Arab Agricultural Development Organization, voiced readiness to cooperate with Suwaidi.
