DOHA: The family beach at Al Wakra is ready and all set to welcome visitors.
The beach under the Al Wakra municipality is being developed by the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning in collaboration with Ashghal.
A playground has been set up for volleyball and another for football, besides a playground for children.
A mosque, shades and toilets have been built to facilitate the visitors.
Al Wakra beach is located in Al Jabel area, north of Wakra, and only families are allowed access.
The beach is fenced from three sides to prevent bachelors from entering the area.
This is the first fenced beach for families.
Some shortcomings like unpaved road leading to the beach and lack of sign boards directing people to the beach, however, need to be taken care of.
First aid facilities and rescue team to address any type of emergency especially cases of drowning are also required
