Durrat Al Bahrain, the Kingdom's largest planned luxury mixed-use residential, yesterday announced the appointment of  Al Sayyar, a Bahrain-based company, to exclusively supply bathroom ceramics from leading German companies, Villeroy and Boch and Ronan Dietsche in a deal worth BD2.9 million.

The agreement sees Al Sayyar supplying the $6 billion project with bathroom ceramics from these two world-renowned companies as well as European brands synonymous with luxury and modern design appeal.

Durrat Al Bahrain intends to fit ceramics from both companies throughout its entire range of villas to ensure its homeowners and visitors experience contemporary design from the world's leading ceramic companies, companies which between them have shaped international design trends for more than 250 years.

Jassim Al Jowder, chief executive officer of Durrat Al Bahrain, said, "Our agreement with Al Sayyar to supply Villeroy and Boch and Ronan Dietsche ceramics illustrates how we are aiming to create a luxury and contemporary feel across all of our villas.  Both companies are known for setting global trends, and we want our homeowners to experience the appeal of their modern designs.

"Our customers have high expectations of Durrat Al Bahrain, and today's announcement demonstrates how we are working to create a unique and contemporary home for all of our homeowners." The development is owned by the Durrat Khaleej al Bahrain Company in which the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and Kuwait Finance House, Bahrain, each hold a 50 per cent stake. The project, a 21-square-kilometre area of pristine waters and untouched beaches, once complete, is expected to be approximately the size of Manama.
