Dover Middle East LLC (DME), an Omani company and subsidiary of the US Company, Dover Corporation, is pleased to announce the construction and commissioning of a coiled sucker rod plant in Salalah. Dover's plant is a "first of its kind" in the region and will provide coiled sucker rod as a viable option for any artificial rod lifted field in the Middle East. The advantage of coiled sucker rod technology in artificial lift applications is that it can be run in more challenging oil wells.
The development and application by the Dover Corporation of rapid service rigs which can be used for the installation of both running conventional and coiled sucker rod into oil wells, in addition to oil well diagnostics, has made the application of coiled rod on a global basis a reality. Dover Corporation's joint venture partner, Neem Projects and Services (Neem), formed Norris Production Solutions Middle East LLC (NPS) which has been instrumental in the success of the coiled rod project in Oman.
Neem Projects and Services, an Omani Holding Company and Business Service provider, is presently engaged with several international companies as joint venture partners, sponsors, and agents. Neem specialises in making global companies local within the Omani market. Neem is part of the Daud Group of Companies with operations around the GCC and India. NPS's unique products and services enable the extension of overall MTBF (mean time between failures) for customers, which realise a benefit not only in increased oil production but in a general reduction in capital and operating cost per well.
By embracing this technology and services technique, our clients Petroleum Development Oman, Occidental Mukhaizna, Occidental of Oman, and Petrogas Rima have also contributed to its success factor. Dover Middle East LLC has chosen Salalah as a strategic location for constructing a coiled sucker rod plant for its location to Oman's southern oil fields, for Salalah's world class port import/export facility, and for the ready to use land at Raysut Industrial Estate.
"Dover Middle East LLC, together with NPS, is committed to the recruiting, training, and development of our local employees and giving back to the local community, by building a technical relationship with Salalah College of Technology and providing world class training to our employees at our facilities in Canada and the United States," the company stated in a press release.
