Health minister has taken all precautionary, necessary treatment measures: Dr Al-Saleh
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 22
The Head of Anti-Epidemic Unit and the official spokesman of the Ministry of Health Dr Musa'ab Al-Saleh affirmed the recent discovery of corona virus antigens in camels is not the virus itself, and this refutes the published news about the spread of corona virus in camels, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Dr Saleh indicated the corona virus cases are still being studied. He pointed out the number of deaths resulting from the corona virus ranges between 40 and 50 worldwide. He was speaking at a symposium organized by the Health Enhancement Department at the Islamic Medicine Center. Dr Saleh mentioned there are three main types of corona virus -- Alfa, beta and gamma, and each type has its individual characteristics, like type Alfa and beta attack humans, and the other type (gamma) attacks both humans and animals.
He indicated the minister has taken all precautionary and necessary treatment measures for patients suffering from the virus in accordance with modern methods of treatment. He pointed out people are infected either directly through spray of saliva which occurs during coughing from a patient or sneezing, or indirect infection through touching contaminated surface or items and then touching either the eye, nose or mouth with contaminated hands. The corona virus habitats in the Arabian Gulf region -- with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia having the highest rate of 80 percent -- and the incubation period for the patients is 14 days, in addition to the fact, the average age of the majority cases of infection ranges between 45 to 55 years old
