Dubai, 9 June 2011 (WAM) -- The Dubai Health Authority has announced that labourers who wish to obtain their medical fitness test will have to go to the newly opened Al Quoz centre, instead of the Al Satwa centre. The move is in line with the DHA's aim to expand its medical fitness services by opening new centres across the Emirate of Dubai to cater to different classes of the population as per their convenience.
From June 12, the Al Satwa Centre will conduct medical fitness tests only for families and females. The centre will also cater to fast-track medical fitness services, which is available in all the medical fitness centres in Dubai. Maisa Al Bustani, Director of Medical Fitness at the DHA said, "The aim of this change is twofold. Firstly, it will be convenient for labourers to visit the Al Quos centre because of its location and space, the centre has 150 chairs in the waiting area as opposed to 50 chairs in the Al Satwa branch. Secondly, the move will also ease the rush at the Al Satwa centre which has always been a dynamic branch because it is one of the oldest medical centers in the Emirate. "The move will also ensure we provide privacy for ladies and families who visit the Al Satwa Centre."The Al Satwa centre will continue to work from 7 am to 9 pm and will accept 500 clients in morning shift (from 7 to 2:30) and 300 in the evening shift( 2:30 to 9) whereas the Al Quos branch, which is located in Al Quos Industrial Area 3 , will accept more than 600 clients per day and will be open from 8 am to 5 pm. Al Bustani clarified that this change is only applicable for the Al Satwa branch and that all the other centres will continue to function as is. For instance, labourers still have the option to visit the 24 hours Al-Muhaisnah centre. Presently, the DHA has a total of 15 centres, including centres in DIFC, Al Safa, Al Mankhool, Al Khawaneej, Al Twar, Airport centre etc. Al Bustani added that the DHA is continuing its expansion projects with regard to the medical fitness centres. The next in the pipeline is the Al Karama Centre which open shortly. Al Bustani added that in addition to this, there are two more ongoing projects which will be announced in the near future. "Over the last few years, we have constantly added new branches in different areas of the Emirate of Dubai. The Medical Fitness Centres also caters to different types of services to fulfil the needs of various customers. For instance, all customers who wish to avail of the VIP medical fitness services can approach the express counters at DHA centres. In addition to the fast-track services in all DHA health centres, the DHA has recently started the TAWAJOD service, which is highly beneficial for corporate employees. DHA employees visit the office or home of the individual who has requested for this service and conduct the medical fitness tests required on the spot.
