Staff Report
Sharjah: Delhi Private School, Sharjah, won the NIMS Basketball title defeating Sharjah Indian School, 62-34, in the finals of the 16th NIMS Trophy Inter School Basketball Tournament organised by New Indian Model School, Sharjah.
Nihal and Abdul Hameed, the two men army of DPS, Sharjah, did the bulk of their team's baskets. Sharjah Indian, who played an aggressive game failed in the offence and was unable to find the targets.
DPS, who excelled in both the defensive and offensive rebounds, controlled the entire match. At the end of the first quarter, they led 13 points against 7. Sharjah Indian, who were rather off colour once again, conceded 14 points and scored only 7 in the second quarter.
The exit of Zahran, their lanky player, with five personal fouls, worsened Sharjah Indian's defence and DPS went for a scoring spree by netting 22 points against 8. Mohammad Nihal top-scored with 24 points followed by Abdul Hameed 22 points.

Losers' finals: Indian High School, Dubai 60 (Anush 19, Abdul 14, Romi 14, Kenneth 13,) beat New Indian Model School, Sharjah 47 (Mohammad Suhail 18, Saif 11, Ajeeth 16, Adnan 2).
