Daraa - Daraa Governor Mohammad Khaled al-Hanous discussed with a UN delegation ways of delivering the humanitarian aid to the families affected by acts of terrorists, and the possibility of opening an office for the UN to supervise the process of distributing aid in the Syrian southern city.

During the meeting held on Tuesday, the governor referred to the acts of armed terrorist groups which sabotaged the infrastructure and service institutions in the city amid a systemized campaign to destroy Syria, taking into consideration that the aggressions targeted sectors of agriculture and industry.

Youssef Abdul-Jalil, the acting resident representative of the UN activities in Syria said that main goal of the visit is to evaluate the situation of the city to open the new office in order to monitor the processes of distributing the humanitarian aid to the needed citizens.

"The UN seeks to help the citizens in Daraa through delivering the aid to the most affected areas," Abdul-Jalil added.

For his part, Director of the World Food Program Matthew Hollingworth affirmed that the Program is offering aid to 26 thousand family in Daraa in cooperation with the Red Crescent and NGOs.

He called for the necessity of putting the needed plans to guarantee the delivery of bread to the affected families and all refugees.

In the same context, member of the World Health Organization Elizabeth Homan referred to Daraa's needs of the medicine and medical materials, talking about the sabotage to which the health sector was exposed to.
