Ajman, Apr 09th, 2011 (WAM)--Minister of Education Dr Hanif Hassan underlined the best healthcare could be attained through continuous medical education and practical training of medical and technical cadres.

He added that students in various medical specialisations should receive good practical training to depend on them in the medical fields after graduation.

Hanif hailed the role of H. H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman in supporting education and health to upgrade education, research and health applications. He added that the federal government encourages the societal partnership with all parties concerned about the education and research to further enhance performance, especially in the area of health sector.

This came during the tour of the minister to Gulf Medical University (GMU) in Ajman, where he was briefed about the specialisations and sections of GMU. Hanif highlighted the role of College in service of the community, stressing the support of the federal government to the successful projects.

The GMU came into existence with the decision issued by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan on the 10th of July 2008 when the Gulf Medical College Ajman was officially approved as the Gulf Medical University (GMU). The focus of the GMU is in three core areas of Medical Education, Healthcare and Research.
