JEDDAH: The administration of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was forced to cancel 12 international flights on Friday night, following a malfunction in the computer system.

The airport authorities confirmed that a malfunction occurred in the information network, leading to the downgrading of the overall system, local media reported on Sunday.

The administration said the malfunction, which continued four hours, did not allow completion of passengers' departure procedures. "A number of airlines changed the schedules to enable the affected passengers to fly to their destinations," it said.
