The misadventures and the daily struggles expatriate workers face will be the focus of a comedy play in Dubai to be staged by some of the Pakistan's top performers.
The group, led by Babbu Barral, famous comedy star, and Deedar, a distinguished stage dancer and actress. The play will be staged at at Al Nasr Leisureland on August 7.
Other prominent artists in the play will be Abid Kashmiri, Tariq Javed, Mohammed Zubair, Liaqat Soldier, Shehzad Raza and Sidra Noor. The play is being organised by Sunny Art production.
"The main theme of the play entitled Channa Chori Chori is the life of expatriates focusing on why they go abroad, how they earn money, how their lives change and how it effects their families," said Zubair while addressing a press conference along with his fellow artists in Dubai on Thursday.
The press conference turned into a hilarious session as the artists continued to cut jokes while discussing the play. "We can't help it as its natural for us to make people laugh," Zubair said promising a memorable show.
The play will be staged in Dubai and Abu Dhabi on the last leg of their one-month tour of Europe and Canada. They will hold at least 23 performances of the same play in different cities of Europe and Canada starting in London tonight.
Abid Kashmiri said they will bring the full comedy play for the entire family. "We are happy that we are going to stage a play in Dubai after a long time. They held plays regularly in Dubai in the early 1990s but the changing trends in this city kept them away for a long time".
