AMMAN - Banks and currency exchanges will open starting on Monday to provide basic services from 10am until 2pm, the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) announced on Sunday.
Banking services will include foreign trade, cash deposits and cheques for merchants, as well as salary withdrawals for employees who do not have ATM cards and family transfers, the CBJ said, pointing out that banks will open with minimal staff to ensure the continuity of services and to maintain employees’ health.
The source added that e-banking and ATM services will also be available, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The CBJ also permitted currency exchanges to offer doorstep services, as well as to deliver money transfers via e-wallets.
This decision is in line with the government’s precautionary measures to protect the well-being of citizens and employees alike.
