MUSCAT -- Bank Sohar Savings Scheme weekly prize draw for two cars was held at the bank's stall at the Salalah Tourism Festival recently. The bank's stall, located in the neighbourhood of the public stage at the Municipal Recreational Centre, has been in a festive mood since the Tourism Festival was inaugurated. There is entertainment every day at the festival and the programmes pull in crowds who come to the centre. It was in the middle of the entertainment and games on the stage that the Master of Ceremonies announced that the Bank Sohar prize draw was to take place at the bank's stall in the immediate vicinity.
On hearing the news, the crowd moved to the stall to experience and be present at the prize draw. There were two prize draws that were conducted at the Bank Sohar stall. In the first, Chief Guest Salim Abdullah al Shanfari -- Co-ordinator and Supervisor of the Salalah Tourism Festival was invited to select the five winners of the bank's 'card spend' promotion for the week. Bank Sohar launched this promotion for their Visa Credit, Prepaid and Debit card holders last month. Every spend of RO 10 on the Bank Sohar Visa Credit, Debit or Prepaid card gives each customer a chance to enter a daily prize draw with five prizes every week.
On every spend of RO 50 similarly gives customers a chance to enter a Grand Prize Draw with three prizes to visit the magnificent 'Seven Wonders of the World.' The 'card spend' promotion that continues through July and August will end with a Grand Prize Draw in September. Each of the week's five winners receives an airline ticket to a destination of the winner's choice. The 'card spend' draw was followed by the Bank Sohar Savings Scheme Weekly Prize Draw for two cars -- A Toyota Land Cruiser 4WD and an Avalon.
The crowd watched as the chief guest conducted the computer draws. They cheered as the Master of Ceremonies announced the name of the winner of the two cars -- Muna Mohammed Ali al Balushi from Qurum branch. As the entertainment resumed on stage, Bank Sohar officials contacted the winner of the two cars on the spot and relayed the customer's surprised reaction and comments to those present over the speaker phone. Several of the visitors present at the venue were witnessing a prize draw for the first time. They were happy with the experience and overjoyed to hear the winner speaking about her good fortune.
