The activities of the Muharraq Municipality Summer Festival kicked off at the Corniche under the theme of "In Love for Khalifa'. The festivals is organised by the Muharraq Council in association with Al Ghad International for exhibitions and conferences.
The head of the council, Mohammed Jassim Hamada, and Al Ghad general manager Abdulrahman Saad Ibrahim delivered speeches, expressing happiness with the launch of the festival coinciding with the continuing celebrations to mark the UN Habitat Award conferred on Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
Hamada and Ibrahim extended their congratulations to the Premier and thanked Shaikh Khalifa bin Rashid for patronising the festival. They also thanked the Prime Minister for his care for Muharraq whose residents have special feelings of love and respect for him. The festival features a number of informative, recreational and sport activities, stalls for productive family products and awareness campaigns by social and youth societies.
