The Bahrain Society for Training and Development (BSTD) yesterday signed an agreement with Response, a Bahrain-based integrated communications agency, to publish society’s quarterly magazine titled Human Resource Magazine.

The signing ceremony was held at the BSTD premises in Adliya and present were Ahmed M Al Banna, president BSTD; Saeed Omar, BSTD vice-president; Mariam Janahi, director, PR & Special Projects, BSTD; Nasreen Al Qaseer, secretary, BSTD; P K Ravi, managing director, Response and Usha Ramesh, chief operating officer, Response.

The quarterly, A-4 full-colour magazine will contain in-depth articles about training, development and human resources in Bahrain and the Gulf and will be distributed free to the BSTD members.

After the signing ceremony Al Banna said: “I am happy that the BSTD is now coming out with an HR journal instead of a newsletter. This meshes with the organisation’s objective of having a global presence in its endeavour to make Bahrain as a significant contributor to the HR fraternity”.

He added that the magazine would bring together the members of BSTD, top management and professionals together in one platform.
The magazine’s editor, Mariam Janahi, said the journal would serve to enhance the HR profession in Bahrain.

PK Ravi said: “Response is proud to be associated with the BSTD. The HR magazine would serve as an ideal vehicle for senior professionals to know the goings on in the HR domain”.

Saeed Omar thanked the BSTD president, the BSTD team members and Response for their involvement in the development of the magazine. The first issue of the magazine will be distributed on October 20.

“Over the last few years the Bahrain Society for Training and Development (BSTD) has made tremendous progress establishing itself as the leading Human Resource association in Bahrain,” Omar said.

“The society has more than 500 members from all sectors of the economy, industries and represents various professions, nationalities and levels of responsibility. “The BSTD is committed to promoting excellence in people management and has four key areas of focus – serving the BSTD members, strengthening and promoting the society, supporting sustainable economic and social development and enhancing HR professionalism in Bahrain,” he added.

Mohammed Sadiq Dawani is the chairman of Response while Usha Ramesh, who has over 20 years of experience in the advertising and communications industry, heads Response.
