DOHA: In a bid to ensure that its projects are meeting international quality standards, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has started collecting feedback on its newly constructed Al Waab Street.
Ashghal, with the help of volunteers, distributed the prescribed forms to the visitors at Hayat Plaza for three days and collected their feedback.
The feedback form contained several queries to the public such as road safety, traffic signals, traffic lines, pedestrian crossings, landscaping, signboards etc.
The questions regarding traffic lines included whether the pedestrian lines on the road are suitable for users, there are sufficient signals for pedestrian lines, whether they are sufficient and secure, the areas of pedestrian crossing provide streamlined movement, the lines are clear during day and night, the lines meet the need of people with special needs, the entry and exit of service roads are safe, and whether there is enough greenery on the street.
Regarding distribution of traffic signs, there were questions like whether the traffic signs are provided in proper locations, whether they are sufficient and whether there are enough signs for pedestrians.
The questionnaire also asked whether the marks of lines and arrows on the street are clear to the drivers and whether there are enough line marks to streamline the traffic flow.
Questions regarding services on the street include whether there are enough parking spaces on the street, there are special parking for people with special needs, the parking spaces are at ease to drop and take the passengers, the entry and exit of parking slots are easier, the feeder agrees with having a system for limited parking time near the shops and markets and whether the feeder supports having Speed Humps on the street etc.
