Albanian President honours Sheikh Abdullah with second highest civilian order Correction: Change to second highest

Tirana, 13th March 2014 (WAM) -- President of Albania Bujar Nishani has awarded the ''Order of Skanderbeg" on UAE Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in recognition of his significant role in bolstering bilateral ties between the two friendly countries.

President Nishani presented the second highest civilian honour in the Republic of Albania to the visiting UAE foreign minister during an audience at the Presidential Palace in capital Tirana today.

Sheikh Abdullah conveyed to the Albanian head of state regards of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his best wishes for further progress and prosperity for the Albanian people.

For his part, President Nishani asked Sheikh Abdullah to pass his greetings to President Khalifa, emphasising his country's keenness to strengthening its ties with the UAE. He said his government pays special attention to relations with the UAE, given its international prominent status.

The Albanian president has urged UAE investors and businessmen to harness investment opportunities his country.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of enhancing bilateral ties as well as a variety of topics of common interest.
