Damascus - Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem discussed on Sunday with the Iranian Acting Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi enhancing the special Syrian-Iranian relations

The two sides reviewed the development in the two countries' relations and the importance of coordinating future stances and visions in the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.

The viewpoints were in agreement on the regional and international issues. The two sides stressed the importance of coordination in this regard.

Al-Moallem was briefed by Salehi on the outcomes of Istanbul meetings between the G5+1 and Iran.

Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem on Sunday discussed with his Argentine counterpart Hector Timerman means of boosting the Syrian-Argentine relations and bilateral cooperation , as well as the latest developments in the Middle East.

The two sides applauded the development in bilateral relations, stressing the importance of continuing consultations at all levels.

Earlier, during a meeting with the European Parliament's Delegation for European-Palestinian relations, al-Moallem said it is important that Europe plays an active role to force Israel work for achieving just and comprehensive peace in the region in a way to enable the Palestinian refugees return home in accordance with the international legitimacy resolutions.

Talks dealt with the latest developments in the Middle East and Syria's efforts to help the Palestinian refugees in cooperation with United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

Al-Moallem briefed the European delegation on the aid Syria offers to the Iraqi brothers in Syria and the burdens it bears in this regard, hoping the appropriate circumstances will be secured to ensure their return to their homeland.
