Abu Dhabi, Mar. 23, 2008 (WAM) - Al Jaber Group, the leading contracting, logistics and industrial group of companies in the UAE, announces the purchase of 720 Caterpillar machines from Mohammed Abdulrahman Al-Bahar for a total value exceeding US$ 220 (AED 809 Million).
The deal, which is the biggest purchase of Caterpillar machines ever in the history of Al Jaber Group, includes a wide range of earth moving equipment that will support Al Jaber Group's operations and expansion plans. Obaid Khalifa Al Jaber, Chairman of Al Jaber Group, Issam Al Bahar, President of Mohammed Abdulrahman Al-Bahar and Mohamed Al Jaber, Chief Executive Officer of Al Jaber Group, signed the deal for their respective outfits in the presence of Mr. Paolo Fellin, Vice President, EAME Marketing Division at Caterpillar, at the Group's head office in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi. "We have a long business relationship with Mohammed Abdulrahman Al-Bahar and we are pleased to add another milestone to this relationship. Caterpillar machines are instrumental to our success and we have great confidence in Caterpillar Products coupled with after sales service and support provided by Mohammed Abdulrahman Al-Bahar, which are strategic to our achievements and successful execution of projects," Al Jaber commented in a post signing statement. "We have a great history with Al Jaber Group; they are considered our biggest business partners in the UAE and the region," Al-Bahar said in a comment on the development. "We look forward for maintaining this relationship with Al Jaber Group and we are confident that new successes will be accomplished between our two organizations," Al-Bahar added. He said delivery of the machines will start immediately and will go on till the first quarter of 2009. Also commenting Mohammed Al Jaber, Group Chief Executive Officer, Al Jaber Group said from January 2007 to date Al Jaber Group purchased nearly 1,000 Caterpillar machines, making Al Jaber Group the biggest purchaser of Caterpillar Products in the region. "Being a pioneer in construction and logistics activities, Al Jaber Group reiterates its commitment to quality by continuously buying new products," he added. The new deal includes wide range of earth moving Caterpillar machines including but not limited to CAT D11T Track Type Tractors, CAT 385C Hydraulic Excavators, CAT 740 Articulated Dump Trucks, CAT 980H Wheel Loaders, CAT D9R Track Type Tractors, CAT D8R Track Type Tractors, CAT 14M Motor Graders and will supplement the long list of equipment in Al Jaber Group's fleet.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2008.
