New York - Syria's Permanent Representative to the UN Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari said that Lakhdar Brahimi submitted his resignation from his post as a UN envoy and it is premature to talk about his successor.
Al-Jaafari pointed out in a press conference that "Many mistakes were committed during Brahimi's term including his interference in Syria's internal affairs, for a mediator does not interfere in sovereignty affairs of any state."
On the French Foreign Minister's statements, al-Jaafari said that those statements are irresponsible and they push towards the use of force in stead of resorting to the UN Charter and the principles of the international law, stressing that France is part of the problem but not part of a solution, and the French policy towards Libya, Egypt and Syria is reckless.
Al-Jaafari referred to the mistakes committed by the U.S. administration, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey towards the Syrian people, stressing that big numbers of terrorists came from Europe to Syria through the Turkish borders.
"The Geopolitics has changed thanks to the steadfastness of the Syrian people in the face of all the pressures of regional and international forces" Syria's Permanent Representative to the UN said , pointing out that Syria did change this geopolitics.
Al-Jaafari wondered how the USA considers Boko Haram in Nigeria as a terrorist group while at the same time it helps the same persons in Syria and calls them 'strugglers', in addition to supplying them with weapons.
The diplomat said that 'Israel' supports the armed terrorist group, treating the injured of the Takfiri gangs and hosts them for months, as it also trains those it calls "the Syrian Fee Army", which reflects its utter involvement in this issue.
"Influential states at the UNSC, which supports the armed terrorist groups in Syria, in addition to some Arab countries have a political plan on changing the situation in Syria by force... These countries seek to create a political vacuum to utilize it for meddling in the country's internal affairs, but the Syrian people have determined their future," he added.
On the national reconciliation, al-Jaafari pointed out that the Syrian government strongly encourages the national reconciliation of all its forms on the soil of the nation, adding that there are some armed groups that decided to give up, where hundreds of people throw their weapons everyday, and the process is comprehensive and continuous.
