Abu Dhabi, Nov 27th, 2012 (WAM) -- UAE General Civil Aviation Authority, represented by Airworthiness (AW) Department, held a meeting with stakeholders in Abu Dhabi last week to apprise and take feedback from them on the services, regulations and processes offered by the department.

This Airworthiness Consultative Committee Meeting, attended by all approved organizations Quality Assurance representatives, is an opportunity for AW Department to engage with the Aviation Industry in UAE and address all issues related to safety and Airworthiness. It is a chance to collect all feedback to improve the GCAA system and to enhance the service user experience and meet their expectation.

According to GCAA it is a forum for all AMO (Aircraft Maintenance Organizations), CAMO (Continued Airworthiness Management Organizations), DOA (Design Organizations Approved), and POA (Production Organizations Approved) to get together in one place and exchange views with the regulator, and listen to the latest amendments in rules and regulations and processes.

The Airworthiness Department plays major role in the Aviation Safety Affairs Sector and GCAA, by approving all AMOs, CAMOs, DOAs, and POAs, involved in aircraft registered in UAE. AW Department register and certify the aircrafts operated by Airlines Operators based in the UAE and hold AOC (Airline Operating Certificates), or POC (Private Operating Certificate) issued by GCAA.

Suggestions and proposals for improvements were noted and then all action items after execution sent back to industry for their records and reference.
