ABU DHABI, Apr. 14th, 2008: ADNOC Distribution, an Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) company, and the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) signed an agreement to further boost humanitarian cooperation whereby part of proceeds from pre-paid (Rahal) smartcards, used to pay for petrol at ADNOC stations, will go to RCA's humanitarian operations.

The agreement was signed by Dr Ail Abdullah Al Ka'abi, Chairman of the board of directors of RCA, and Salim Darwish Al Mansoori, Director General of ADNOC Distribution.

The Rahal Card is accepted at more than 150 ADNOC Distribution Service Stations across the UAE. Rahal Smart Card can be used to charge gas car care products, car washes, and even Oasis convenient store items like snacks and drinks.

"For each gallon of fuel purchased by Rahal card, subscribers get 20 free 20 points, the equivalent to 20 fils.

ADNOC will accordingly enable subscribers to donate points to RCA," said Al Mansouri.

"ADNOC which is one of the major drivers of the UAE national economy plays a significant humanitarian and social role and has always acted as an epitome of corporate charitable work through sponsoring charities and charitable events," said Al Ka'abi.

For his part, Al Mansouri lauded RCA's humanitarian and charitable role adding that the nation's largest charity has won the donors' and philanthropists' trust who are keen on helping out the vulnerable and underprivileged individuals all over the world.
