Abu Dhabi, May 24th, 2011 (WAM) -- As part of the annual Geology Day program recently organized by the Faculty of Information Technology, UAE University, Al Ain, the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City reviewed its key projects and achievements in developing a spatial data systems.

The Municipalitys participation was reflected in presenting two working papers; one about Seismic Risk Control & Management System in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi delivered by engineer Mustafa Al Massawi, and the other about Marine Information Systems, Soil Properties and Earthquakes in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi delivered by Dr. Omar Al Amin.

The Municipality also set up a dedicated stand at the sidelines of the Geology Day program; offering a good platform for showcasing key spatial data projects, particularly the 4D Graphical Visualization of Abu Dhabi & Al Ain, along with a thorough explanation of the objectives & procedures of the Program and its huge benefits that reflect positively on all strategic partners.

"The participation of the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City in the Geology Day is part of the municipal efforts aimed at boosting the strategic partnerships, exchanging expertise and highlighting its achievement of the spatial data project; which is very helpful in matching the reality with a database that constitutes a solid and reliable base for planning, analysis, developing various designs and taking strategic decisions in support of business activities of different government bodies and strategic partners," said Engineer Salah Al Sarraj, Acting Executive Director of Town Planning Sector, Municipality of Abu Dhabi City.
