Kut - The Russian Company Kazibrom began operations of actual production of crude oil in the Badra oil field, 85 km east of Kut.
The chairman of the energy committee in the provincial council, Amal al-Ugaili told the reporter of the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that: "The Company has completed all exploration and development initiated over a year ago, and has now moved to the operations of the actual production of oil under the supervision of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil."
She added: "The required amount of oil to start commercial production will be assembled during 3 months, as it will reach its peak of production oil from this field in 2017 to / 170 / thousand barrels per day."
The Iraqi government has signed a contract to develop the Badra field in June 2010 with a consortium of four foreign companies, which are the Russian Kazibrom, the South Korean Kocaz, Malaysian Petronas and Turkish TPAO.
It is mentioned that Wasit province has two oil fields, where production oil has in two (Ahdab and Badra), and there are large exploratory work carried out in other fields east of the province.
