Abu Dhabi– Mubasher: Abu Dhabi’s non-oil trade leaped 24.2% year-on-year in August, recording AED 14.08 billion from AED 11.34 billion.

The emirate’s non-oil exports reached about AED 2 billion in August, compared with AED 1.5 billion in the same month last year, according to a report released by the Statistics Centre of Abu Dhabi (SCAD).

Abu Dhabi’s non-oil imports stood at AED 1.8 billion in August, up from AED 1.4 billion in the corresponding month a year earlier.

Abu Dhabi’s non-oil trade rose 3.9% year-on-year to AED 108.18 billion in the first eight months of 2018 ended August, compared to AED 10.06 billion

Industrial supplies topped the items imported by the UAE’s capital and biggest sheikhdom during the first eight months of 2018, reaching AED 5.87 billion, while imports of transport equipment and spare parts registered AED 2.14 and imports of staples amounted to AED 1.04 billion.

The US ranked first among Abu Dhabi’s non-oil exporters, with total exports of AED 1.61 billion, followed by Saudi Arabia.

In terms of the non-oil exporters to the Gulf emirate, South Korea is ranked Abu Dhabi’s top exporter with a total value of AED 2.23 billion, followed Saudi Arabia with AED 893.2 million.
