Gulf Air has recruited 100 Bahraini pilots and 18 non-Bahraini pilots over the past three years, said Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Kamal Ahmed.

A total of 93 non-Bahraini pilots didn’t have their contracts renewed during 2021-2022, he pointed out.

He was speaking in reply to a question by MP Adel Al Assoomi on Gulf Air company.

The company has also employed 32 local stewards and 187 expatriate stewards over the past years, he added.

Thirty-eight per cent of stewards are Bahrainis including 6pc females, while 62pc are expatiates with 61pc females, he said.
