Ras Al Khaimah: Passengers travelling through Ras Al Khaimah Airport can now proceed from check-in to aircraft without standing in queue for passport control.

The ‘Smart Travel’ system allows passengers to check-in and move through immigration and security, interacting only with innovative technology.

Major-General Ali Abdullah Bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, said the ‘Smart Travel’ system which was unveiled on Tuesday will make travelling much easier and faster.

This system consists of self-check-in and baggage drop facilities, automated passport control gates equipped with biometric verification functions and facial recognition technology, along with smart boarding gates.

The self-check-in processing will take only five minutes while the registration process to the boarding pass collection will complete in 20 seconds.

The initiative implemented in partnership with Ras Al Khaimah Police and Residency Department as part of the Ministry of Interior strategy.

Brigadier Sultan Al Nuaimi, General Director of Ras Al Khaimah Residency and Foreigners Affairs, said the new system is in line with the strategy of the Ministry of Interior to give a more convenient travel experience to all passengers.

Brig Al Nuaimi said “The Ras Al Khaimah Police and Residency Department are keen on providing better security services to win customers’ satisfaction and bring happiness to them.”
