Dubai: Rashid Hospital was instructed on Saturday to give patients earlier appointments so not let them wait for long time to see their doctors at the specialised outpatient clinics.

Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council gave the instructions while visiting the Emergency and Trauma centre at Rashid hospital, where he was welcomed by Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority.

Shaikh Hamdan was accompanied by Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

Shaikh Hamdan stressed that the healthcare services offered to Dubai residents should be of world-class quality and in line with the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

He also emphasised the importance of further enhancing the quality of healthcare in Dubai and reducing waiting periods at outpatient clinics in line with the healthcare development strategy outlined in Dubai Plan 2021.

“We attach great attention to the safety and health of Dubai residents within our existing and future plans, which we set to meet the residents’ aspirations of getting state-of-the-art services. Therefore, the waiting time to get an appointment in the specialised outpatient clinics should be reduced so that an integrated health system is adopted to achieve quality and improve the efficiency of services and health care in general”, Shaikh Hamdan said during his visit.

He noted that patients’ needs of healthcare services should be determined according to the latest international medical techniques and practices, adding that “raising public health and preventive awareness is a shared responsibility between all members and entities in the society.

Shaikh Hamdan was briefed by doctors and technicians working in the centre on the workflow and services provided to patients as well as on various departments of the hospital. He praised their efforts, stressing that no institution can work alone independently without benefiting from international experiences and take advantage of everything new.
