Tehran - Oil Minister Rostam Qassemi said on Sunday that Zagheh oilfield in Deilam port, Bushehr province, has been envisaged to yield at least 50,000 bpd heavy oil when it becomes operational soon.
He told reporters on the sidelines of signing a contract with Tatarneft oil company on development of Zagheh oilfield in presence of Tataristan President Rustam Minnikhanov that Zagheh oilfield will yield at least 50,000 bpd heavy oil.
Asked about the value of the contract with Tatarneft oil company, he said that technical details of the contract have not been finalized yet.
He said that the contract will be fixed in the next two months.
Qassemi said that Iran has many oilfields with heavy oil reserves and Tatarneft possesses technology to develop such fields.
He said in the meantime that Iran will enjoy experience of other countries in development of the oilfields.
